Women in Officiating Network Launch
Calling all women in Officiating!
Whether you are an aspiring National League umpire or love a Saturday runaround with a whistle at your club, we would love you to be a part of a pioneering initiative to support, develop and celebrate women in Officiating in London - the Women in Officiating Network.
Last season out of the 1,100 neutral appointments in the London Area just 65, or 5%, were filled by women. This is in stark contrast to the almost equal split between men and women undertaking the Level 1 course. As part of our ongoing effort to be at the forefront in driving equality, London Hockey is taking the lead and exploring ways to bridge this gap. Our primary task is to create the Women in Officiating Network, which aims to connect with, and nurture, our constituency of women. Then, in turn, this group will be able encourage and support each other to build Officiating talent in women across London.
To kick things off, we will be hosting a 45 minute call to introduce our aims for the Women in Officiating Network and discuss plans for future engagement as a group. The virtual call is scheduled for Monday 21st November at 8pm. If you are unable to make the call you can still register your interest in being part of the Network on the form below.
Please register your interest for the call and your participation here: Registration Form
We look forward to seeing you on the 21st.
