London Hockey Leagues

SHARE

The new London Hockey League launched in September 2021 with London clubs participating in 31 women's and men's divisions. Our aim is to expand the leagues in years to come with a growing number of clubs and teams participating at all levels of the game.

The London Hockey Adult League Management Committee (ALMC) is responsible for managing the leagues and other adult hockey activity and will be communicating regularly with London clubs via the divisional secretaries.

Adult League Regulations have been revised and are now aligned across the country. You can find them on the right of this page. Further information and guidance about team selection, promotion & relegation etc can be found in our document library, also in the Adult Hockey section.

England Hockey has introduced a new Game Management System (GMS) for player registrations, fixture management for all fixtures in England and appointments of officials. All eight new Areas including London Hockey will be working with this new system to manage our game.

All London Hockey League fixtures, results and tables can be found in our dedicated match centre with more statistics etc to be made available over time.

Fixture Management

London Hockey aim to balance home and away fixtures for clubs to optimise pitch space and make club administrators' lives easier. Clubs will need to enter venues and times for all fixtures into GMS within given timescales and team managers and captains will be responsible for match day administration.

Please ensure all team contact details on GMS are up-to-date to enable smooth communication between teams participating in the London Hockey Leagues.

The use of match sheets is mandatory for all London Hockey League teams, both men and women. We appreciate this will be different to what captains were maybe used to in the past but we ask for your cooperation to make this a smooth transition. The ALMC has mandated that temporary London Hockey match sheets are used until the end of 2021 before moving to the GMS match sheets from January 2022.

GMS Player Registration

As per the new Adult League Regulations every player will need to register on the Game Management system to be eligible to play League hockey. Only registered players can be selected in online team sheets which applies to every game, irrespective of area or level of the game. This player registration will ensure that a fair selection policy is maintained, guided by the regulations, and a transfer process is in place if players wish to move clubs.

Player registration on GMS for all adult hockey players in the London Area formally opened on 1 December, with many individuals already registering in the earlier stages of the system launch. Player registration for all teams must be completed by 31 December.

Important - if you have new players joining your club after this date please ensure they are registered prior to playing any league matches for your club.
